4 Fleeing From Soldiers’ Atrocities Die In Road Accident 

A car accident along the Belo – Ndawara road between Belo Subdivision and Bamungo Village in Babessi Subdivision in the Northwest Region left four people out six fleeing from soldiers dead.
The accident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 13, when truck-loads of soldiers stormed Belo. Villagers were struggling to escape with their dear lives.

According to eyewitness accounts, a Carina E car with number plate NW 534 GU coming from Belo and heading towards Bamungo through Ndawara, tried to by-pass a Ndawara Wheat Estate truck with number plate LT 839 BQ, and had a head-on collision with the truck. Out of the six passengers on board the Carina E, four died on the spot, among them, three children; two baby girls and a baby boy.

One of the victims was crushed beyond recognition while one Bobe Daniel Chia was severely injured and was rushed to the Banso Baptist Hospital for quick medical attention.
Meantime, the four corpses were preserved at the Ndop District mortuary pending burial.
The fatal accident has been blamed on overloading and over-speeding due to the crisis in Belo. Meanwhile, at press time, police had opened a probe in order to know the exact cause of the accident.
