Some victims of the on-going strike in the Northwest Region have been buried with the flags of the Southern Cameroons, aka Ambazonia.

The funeral pictures went viral on the social media showing youths marching alongside the casket of one of the deceased with the flag of Ambazonia.

The victims were hailed as heroes who are paying the price in the fight against the marginalisation of Anglophones in Cameroon, and as such, deserve to be honoured with the Ambazonian flag.

“May they continue the journey with us till freedom comes, before we say “rest in peace”, was one of the messages.

Other tributes also applauded the slain youths as heroes, standing up for a better ‘Motherland’.

The use of the Ambazonian flag has increased rapidly and from time to time, the flag has been hoisted in different towns, before being pulled down by the forces of law and order.

A video from Bamenda showed youths pulling down the Cameroon flag, and hastily hoisting the Ambazonian flag, amid a crowd cheering and at the top of their voices in approval.
