Fru Ndi Consoles Soldiers Attacked By Boko Haram

By Chris Mbunwe

The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi, recently visited soldiers wounded in the war against Boko Haram, in the Yaounde Military Hospital.
The hospitalised soldiers are victims of the Boko Haram attacks in the northern regions of Cameroon.

In a brief chat with The Post after the visit, the SDF Chieftain said: “I seized the opportunity of attending the Central African Security meeting of Heads of State in Yaounde to encourage the soldiers to keep up the fight in defending Cameroon. My message to the wounded soldiers was that of consolation and congratulation for their bravery and, secondly, to assure them that they are not fighting for themselves, but for the nation.”

Fru Ndi said after discussing with five Generals at the Yaounde Congress Centre, he was given the green light to visit the wounded soldiers receiving treatment at the Military Hospital shortly after Chadian President, Idris Deby, had left the hospital.
“Though on sick beds, I saw soldiers who are determined to defend their country and we all must lend them our support to erase Boko Haram from our land. The war against Boko Haram is everybody’s concern, not only that of soldiers,” Fru Ndi averred.
He recalled that the first Vice National Chairman of the SDF, Hon. Joshua Osih, was recently in the North Region and brought back revealing statistics and the difficulties the population is going through which the SDF is presently working on.
