New Appointments In Buea Diocese

There have been new appointments and transfers in the Buea Diocese. The appointments are contained in a document from the Bishop’s House, Small Soppo, Buea, dated December 9 and signed by the Bishop of Buea, Immanuel Banlanjo Bushu.

According to the diocesan shake-up, Rev. Fr. Willibroad Sakwe from the Holy Family Parish, New Town Parish, Limbe, is now the Catholic Education Secretary for the Buea Diocese. He takes over from Rev. Fr. George Jingwa Nkeze. Rev. Fr. Martin Muma, who was on sabbatical, has been appointed Acting Parish Priest of the Holy Family Parish, New Town, Limbe.

Rev. Fr. Nkeze, pioneer President of the newly inaugurated University Institute of the Diocese of Buea, UIDB, has been sent on sabbatical. Dr. Peter Ayuk Arrey, initially Executive Vice President in charge of Services at UIDB, has being moved in as the Acting President of UIDB, in charge of Academics. Dr. Fabian Ekue, formerly Registrar of UIDB is now Acting Executive President of UIDB in charge of Services. Thomas Ndive Mokake has being brought in as Vice President of Human Resources, UIDB.

Rev. Fr. Basil Sede leaves the position of Vice President in charge of Pastoral Duties, UIDB, to Saint Joseph College, Sasse, Buea as Chaplain. Rev. Fr. George Ngalame quits as the Chaplaincy of Sasse College to UIDB as the Chaplain, cumulatively as the Director of the diocesan radio and television, Divine Mercy.

Rev. Fr. Aloysius Fondong, who is the sitting Director of Finance in Buea Diocese, has been added the responsibility of Director, St. Thomas Aquinas Bookshop, Molyko, Buea. Dr. George Atem, one of the executive staff of UIDB, goes on retirement. Stephen Njume Ekeh, takes over from Eugene Tih Ngum as the Director of Finance, UIDB, while Mrs. Victorine Vemohmbih is the Treasurer, UIDB.

While thanking all those who have handled functions and are moving onto other assignments, Mgr. Bushu wished the newly appointed success in their new-found responsibilities and invited them to take up their duties immediately as from the date of signature.
